This is the eye of a smart, cognitive and personal traffic control network...
It is very challenging to drive a car though a net of highways,
yet, it is even difficult to cope with rush hours. To help ease
our journeys on highways, we need a smart and cognitive traffic
control network national wide. The important part of this control
network is the eye to watch and understand complex traffic
conditions. TrafficSky system is the eye built by Yang's for this
purpose. The TrafficSky system uses computational cognition
technologies and computational verb theory to model the cognitive
behaviors of a human operator when she/he is watching the
monitoring videos captured from above of the high ways, city
streets and intersections. It is smarter than the conventional
video-based traffic monitoring and control systems in the
following aspects:
1) Understanding Traffic Dynamics. Since computational verb theory
is used, the TrafficSky system can mimic the dynamic reasoning
processes of human operators; namely, it is not just looking but
keeping to anticipate and see. Therefore, the TrafficSky system
has the ability to track all vehicles within the view.
2) Adapting to Changing Environments. The environments where the
videos are taken subjected to long-term and short-term changes.
Day and night, sunny, raining, sand storm and snowing, just to
name a few. To cope with all these kinds of dynamic environments,
the TrafficSky systems are equipped with cognitive learning and
adapting ability.
Now a part of TrafGo Intelligent Transportation Systems Developer’s C\C++ kit.
